Robert V. Moriarty, MD
Dr. Moriarty was educated at Boston College, graduating summa cum laude and elected Phi Beta Kappa for academic excellence while playing varsity lacrosse. His medical training followed at State University of New York at Downstate, where he achieved honors in medicine and surgery.
Dr. Moriarty participated in a surgical internship at North Shore University Hospital, followed by an orthopedic residency at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he coauthored several publications and authored a chapter in an orthopedic textbook.
He received board certification from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is a member of the NYS Orthopedic Association, a fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, and a certified independent medical examiner.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Moriarty is an active educator in his field. He has been involved in the orthopedic residency training program and provides monthly lectures to the Physical Therapy Department of Huntington Hospital. Dr. Moriarty is also an instructor at SUNY Stony Brook in the Physician Assistant Program. He also lectures to the insurance community on issues concerning work related injuries.
Dr. Moriarty is active in his community as the commissioner of a youth football program. He has many years of experience as a football and lacrosse coach. Dr. Moriarty also enjoys boating, fishing, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
Megan A. O'Connor - Practice Manager
Ms. O'Connor has been in the orthopedic field for approximately 10 years. She is an active member of the AAOE, MGMA, and the NYS Bones Society, where she serves as the Treasurer.
Nancy Koentje - Radiological Technician
Ms. Koentje is a licensed certified XRay technician with additional training in computerized tomography (CT).
Joan Buchanan - Authorizations and Medical Records
Ms. Buchanan has served in the medical community of Huntington for approximately 30 years and can assist you with any of your administrative needs.
